This proposal is for a student accomodation scheme located on St James Street, Walthamstow. The mixed-use development has been put forward on behalf of Tribe St James Street Limited, comprising of 224 student bed spaces and 628 sqm of new commercial space.
The accommodation is arranged in two buildings, the first of which is arranged in a horseshoe to form an external courtyard amenity spaces for the students, whilst the second improves and continues the St James Street frontage. The buildings range in height from 3 levels, along St James Street, up to 6 levels along Brunner Road.
The design takes influence from the area’s rich historic context to help provide a seamless transition from the established St James Street to the emerging St James Quarter.
