This project is a mixed-use development for a site in Bethnal Green, Tower Hamlets. It forms part of the Collingwood Estate and has been built on behalf of Tower Hamlets Homes.
The project consists of three new build separate blocks, incorporating a total of 53 dwellings. There are a range of dwelling sizes and types including one, two, three and four bedroom homes, and five wheelchair compliant homes.
The blocks range in height from 4 to 5 storeys, and all homes benefit from access to either terraces or balconies. The terraces are inset within the overall building form to offer a sensitive, integrated design solution.
The project includes the demolition of the existing Collingwood Community Centre. The replacement Collingwood Community Centre has been created in an existing undercroft to Orion House and provides 438 sqm of high quality space for use by the local community. The scheme also includes a well-lit landscaped green space with children’s play area at the heart of the development.
